ইংরেজি ভাষায় কিছু শব্দগুচ্ছ আছে, যেগুলোকে আমরা জোড়া শব্দের মতো ব্যবহার করি। এদের বলে Collocations (সহাবস্থানমূলক শব্দগুচ্ছ)। অর্থাৎ, কিছু শব্দ প্রকৃতিগতভাবেই একসঙ্গে বসে, আর এদের নিজস্ব মানে থাকে। যেমন “make a decision” আমরা বলি, কিন্তু “do a decision” বলি না। আজ আমরা “make” দিয়ে তৈরি ১০টি অত্যন্ত দরকারি Collocation শিখব, যাতে তোমার ইংরেজি লেখা ও কথাবার্তা হবে নির্ভুল ও স্মার্ট।
Collocation কাকে বলে?
Collocation হলো কতগুলো শব্দের এমন জুটি বা দল, যারা প্রায় সবসময় একসঙ্গে ব্যবহৃত হয় এবং আলাদা অর্থ প্রকাশ করে। এদের ভুলভাবে পরিবর্তন করলে বাক্যটি দুর্বল হয়ে যায়। তাই এগুলো একসঙ্গেই শেখা জরুরি।
১. Make a decision (সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া)
Meaning: কোনো কিছু স্থির করা, decide করা।

English: After much thought, she finally made a decision to pursue a career in nursing.
