1. Direct Translation Errors (বাংলা থেকে সরাসরি অনুবাদের ভুল)
বাংলা বাক্যের গঠন আর ইংরেজি বাক্যের গঠন আলাদা। সরাসরি শব্দ ধরে অনুবাদ করলে ভুল হয়।
1.1 “আমি একমত” → “I am agree.” ✗

এগুলো বলার সময় ভুল হয়:

“Call off” = cancel.

আগুন নেভানো = put out; put off = স্থগিত করা।
He turned down the offer. (ঠিক)
কিন্তু “He turned down it” ভুল → He turned it down.
Separable phrasal verb-এ pronoun মাঝে বসে।

I am looking forward to meeting you.
“Look forward to” + verb-ing.
💡 Phrasal Verb Spotlight: mix up (গুলিয়ে ফেলা)
Mix up means to confuse two things or people.
I always mix up these two words. (আমি সবসময় এই দুটি শব্দ গুলিয়ে ফেলি।)
Don’t mix up the salt with the sugar. (লবণ আর চিনি গুলিয়ে ফেলো না।)
She mixed up the dates and missed the meeting. (সে তারিখ গুলিয়ে মিটিং মিস করল।)
💡 Phrasal Verb Spotlight: mess up (নষ্ট করা / ভুল করা)
Mess up means to make a mistake or ruin something.
I messed up my exam. (আমি পরীক্ষা নষ্ট করেছি।)
Don’t mess up this opportunity. (এই সুযোগ নষ্ট কোরো না।)
He messed up the whole plan. (সে পুরো পরিকল্পনা গুলিয়ে দিল।)
10. How to Avoid These Mistakes (কীভাবে এই ভুল এড়াবে)
বাংলা থেকে হুবহু অনুবাদ করবে না। ইংরেজি বাক্যের নিজস্ব গঠন শেখো।
Tense-এর গঠন বারবার মুখস্থ করো এবং ছোট ছোট বাক্য প্র্যাকটিস করো।
Preposition-এর তালিকা মুখস্থ করো: কোন verb-এর পরে কোন preposition বসে (e.g., angry with, good at, afraid of)।
Article (a, an, the)-এর নিয়ম জেনে রাখো।
Subject-verb agreement: He/She/It-এর সাথে s/es, I/You/We/They-এর সাথে base form, always.
Common confusing words-এর লিস্ট বানিয়ে নাও এবং প্রতিদিন একবার চোখ বোলাও।
Phrasal Verbs-এর সঠিক ব্যবহার শিখতে এগুলোর structure (separable/inseparable) মনে রাখো।
শুদ্ধ ইংরেজি শোনার অভ্যাস করো: English news, cartoon, YouTube—যাতে ভুল ধরা পড়ে।
নিজের কথা রেকর্ড করে শুনো।
