🟩 Group 1: Call It a Day (আজকের মতো কাজ বন্ধ করা)
অর্থ: দিনের কাজের একটি পর্যায়ে এসে সেটি বন্ধ করে দেওয়া, কারণ যথেষ্ট হয়েছে বা আর করার দরকার নেই।
Structure: call it a day (no object needed)
মনে রাখবেন: এটি informal phrase, কিন্তু অফিসের পরিবেশেও নির্দ্বিধায় ব্যবহার করা যায়। “Let’s call it a day” খুব প্রচলিত।

অর্থ: কোনো কাজ বা প্রতিযোগিতায় বারবার ব্যর্থ হয়ে বা ক্লান্ত হয়ে পুরোপুরি চেষ্টা ছেড়ে দেওয়া।
Structure: throw in the towel (on something)
উৎপত্তি: বক্সিং থেকে এসেছে—যখন কোনো মুষ্টিযোদ্ধা আর লড়তে পারে না, তখন তার কোচ রিংয়ের ভেতর তোয়ালে ছুঁড়ে দিয়ে লড়াই শেষের ইঙ্গিত দেন।

অর্থ: কাউকে সম্পূর্ণরূপে চেনা বা প্রমাণ ছাড়াই, তার সৎ উদ্দেশ্য আছে ধরে নিয়ে তাকে বিশ্বাস করা বা ক্ষমা করা।
Structure: give + someone + the benefit of the doubt
মনে রাখবেন: যখন কোনো পরিস্থিতি unclear, কিন্তু আপনি নেতিবাচক ধারণা না করে ইতিবাচকটা বেছে নিচ্ছেন।

অর্থ: অতীতে কেউ কোনো ভুল বা খারাপ ব্যবহার করার কারণে সেই রাগ বা অভিমান এখনও পুষে রাখা, এবং বর্তমান আচরণে তার প্রভাব পড়া।
Structure: hold + something + against + someone
